NOLA?? One of my good friends just brought me back delicious coffee from Cafe du Monde down in New Orleans. This town is a vibrant city with lots of history.
Here's what my favorites are:
Cafe du Monde- you must go. The beignets and the chicory coffee are delicious.

Cathedral-Basilica of Saint Louis King of France- 300 yr old church, beautiful and has a museum attached. Iconic, if you see a photo of New Orleans, it probably has this church in it.
Plantation Row- the south is full of history and if this is your thing you must see a plantation or 2. I recommend Laura, Whitney, Destrehan and Oak Alley. I did these on separate visits but you can take a bus that will take you to many of them in one day. PS Oak Alley has been in many movies you might recognize.

Swamp tour: you take a boat out and see all sorts of critters. I recommend Cajun Encounters.
Of course there is lots of walking tours like a voodoo tour where you learn all about Marie Laveu, or a ghost tour and you can go through the iconic cemetery.

If you are going out on Bourbon Street be sure to grab a muffaletta sandwich or pizza you won't be disappointed and stop by the Tropical Isle and order a shark attack. Also,
Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar is one of the oldest bars in the country built in 1722 with a sweet atmosphere and frozen drinks to cool down.
