What a fisherman's paradise. In the heart of Memphis, close to the river is a pyramid structure which was once a sports arena, had been turned into a 53500 square foot Bass Pro Shops complex. It includes several shops, a hotel, several dining options, and plenty to do! When you walk in you are taken to a swamp like feeling with 600,000 gallons of water throughout the complex full of fish, waterfowl, and alligators. There are Learn about the history of water fowling, conservation, and wetlands at the Ducks Unlimited National Waterfowling Heritage Center. There are kiosks that share various identification about the habitats and taxidermy of waterfowls throughout and many interactive activities like 4D duck blind experiences, bowling and target practice.
There are a few food options as well including Wahlburgers Wild and The Lookout Restaurant. To get there you must take a ride 28 stories up on the world’s tallest free standing glass elevator to The Lookout complete observation deck. Make a reservation ahead of time and skip the line. There is a fee to ride the elevator if you are not dining. There is also a bar with terrace/fire pits and stage for live music . One of interesting parts is this store doubles as a hotel, The Big Cypress lodge with 103 rooms and suites, a spa, fitness center, and spaces for special events.
